Pseudo Philosophy

A lot of pilgrim seem to like finding a use for black felt tip pens. There is not a day that goes by when we don`t see a scribble on a Camino sign or light post or large stone saying something like:

Love Yourself first!

Unparalleled Living

You are strong and beautiful

and of course the ubiquitous:

Buen Camino!

All very nice and affirmative, but there are other verbiage that is a little less enthusiastically received. For example:

Love you forever Kitty (with a heart over the letter ì)


and the poem I saw yesterday:

Every life-giving breath
Brings you closer to death
Think of each breath you take
It may be the last you make

Perhaps true but I don`t really want to be presented with that pithy sentiment as I puff myself up a steep scree hill. 

Then there is always some wag who responds to what is written and read:
