The number of memorials to pilgrims who have died on the Camino has not diminished - if anything they have increased. We always stop at each one. One that particularly resonated for me was for a young man of 18 who had died in a cycling accident here. His family and friends obviously knew about his character with clear eyes and appreciation, and I hope mine will feel the same way, as his memorial read:
A boat is "safer" when anchored in harbour,
But that is not the aim of boats
